Deferred Disposition
Defendant may qualify for a dismissal of a traffic citation by complying and completing deferred disposition. You may request deferred disposition either in writing or verbally to Judge Dana Lewis.
Deferred Disposition can be a 30, 90, or 180-day probationary period. The Judge will pick the probation period and give you stipulations, for your court order. Defendant will pay court cost and a special fine amount (special fine amount is at the Judge's Discretion).
To be eligible, you Must:
- Request on or before the court date on citation.
- Have a valid Texas Driver’s license and insurance at the time of the citation.
- Defendants with a commercial driver’s license are not eligible for deferred disposition.
VIOLATION OCCURRING IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE WHILE WORKERS PRESENT ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR DEFFERED DISPOSITION.
